Recently, Bloom filters have been used increasingly in networking applications, including packet classification, routing in P2P networks[10], string matching in Network Intrusion Detection(NID)[2] , flow rate monitoring etc., and in wireless sensor network(WSN) for updating configuration parameters and to distribute bulk data[13], to hide the data with low energy consumption[14], to identify the data locations in the nodes[15] . The basic Bloom filter has been extended in many ways to suit specific applications. Bloom filters allow false positives but the space savings often outweigh this drawback when the probability of an error is made sufficiently low.
In this paper an attempt is made to survey the ways in which loom filters have been used and modified depending on the variety of network problems.

This paper presents a reconfigurable architecture for high performance turbo decoder based on Max Log Maximum a Posteriori (ML-MAP) algorithm using sliding window technique. The proposed architecture is based on standardizing the branch metric values to improve the speed of operation of the decoder and also configured to support three different constraint lengths. The intended reconfigurable decoder architecture has been implemented using Verilog HDL at RTL level and synthesized to investigate its performance in terms of area usage and timing delay. The proposed technique increases the throughput rate with marginal increase in area compared to the non reconfigurable decoder. Keywords

Background/Objectives: Maintaining constant frequency in an Islanded microgrid is highly demanding and challenging issue. Therefore it is proposed to use Robust PI Controller for controlling the frequency of islanded microgrid using Energy Storage system. Methods/Statistical Analysis: The proposed Robust PI controller provides the required frequency stability to the islanded microgrid. The test modeled in MATLAB Simulink environment. The Test system modeled as typical remote location (Island or Military Power Grid or Geographically Disconnected or Hilly Terrain) with a wind turbine and Solar panel, along with distributed loads and Energy storage system. Findings: The drawbacks of the traditional PI controller to adapt to the parametric variations and to provide faster response is overcome using proposed Robust PI controller. The inherent disadvantage of PID controller such as instability and peak overshoot is also overcome with the proposed controller. The Proposed Robust PI controller provides the improved dynamic frequency stability and reduced peak overshoot to the islanded microgrid with in 0.3seconds, if the microgrid is suddenly disconnected from the main grid. The controller also tested under various conditions and it provides required frequency stability to test system during islanding operation. The proposed method is simple, flexible and provides improved performance as compared to the existing methods and approaches for frequency stability of islanded microgrid. Application/Improvements: The proposed controller can be used in remote location and provides simple, yet cost effective solution as compared to costlier PID Controller based on fuzzy logic and neural network. Keywords

Large collections of publicly available video data grow day by day, the need to query this data efficiently becomes significant. Consequently, content-based retrieval of video data turns out to be a challenging and important problem. This paper addresses the specific aspect of inferring semantics automatically from raw video data using different knowledge-based methods. In particular, this paper focuses on three techniques namely, rules, Hidden Markov Models (HMMs), and Dynamic Bayesian Networks (DBNs). First, a rule-based approach that supports spatio-temporal formalization of high-level concepts is introduced. Then the focus of this paper is towards stochastic methods and also demonstrates how HMMs and DBNs can be effectively used for content-based video retrieval from multimedia databases. Keywords
