Abstract
Bench scale method for commercial propagation of Bambusa nutans and Dendrocalamus membranaceous was developed using seed quality and seedling vigour to mass produce quality propagules. Multiple shoots were produced from nodal segments of aseptically grown seedlings, cultured on Murashige and Skoog medium containing BA. Rooting was done in 0.5 mg/l BA. This method produced 967 plants ofBambusa nutans and 1069 plants of Dendrocalamus membranaceous in the span of 5-6 months which can be sealed up four times through maeroproliferation.
