A criticism that is often made of gender theory in the India is that its basic tenets and conclusions only apply to gender in developed industrialized countries. Drawing upon this major statement, the paper examines ongoing dialogues articulated between India and Third world Gender thought or more broadly stated between Asian Gender. The paper devotes particular attention to feminist theorization about the role of women in development process and the advancement of women's status as discussed by major frameworks in the field. Main Gender approaches to development, as usually found in the literature constitute multifaceted road maps in the field, more than totally coherent and mutually exclusive narratives. As helpful as they may be, these frameworkS were mostly developed under the influence of subsequent versions of Gender theory, exporting to the rest of the world a set of vision and strategies that were context specific for men/women's movements. The paper scrutinizes the principal limitations that Third world gender scholars have encountered in Indian and Asian gender studies to explain and interpret the advancement of man/woman's right in the developing world. Eliciting relevant criticism from scholars working within different theoretical traditions and drawing upon critiques from structural/historical analysis to actor oriented perspective, the analysis brings to the fore the potentiality that these contributions entail for the understanding of women's status in less developed countries.Keywords

The pulp and paper industry has been recognized as one of the highly polluting industrial sectors in the country. In the present paper attempt had to be made to show the effectiveness of chemical additive (Phthalic Anhydride) in reduction of COD and BOD which was used during pulping process. COD and BOD values of control spent liquor samples (without additive) were on slightly higher side in comparison to the spent liquor samples, where chemical additive phthalic anhydride was added with pulping chemicals. The reduction in BOD was due to stabilization of carbohydrates against degradation; as a result less amount of hemicellulose comes in spent liquor after pulping, which decreases the BOD values. Hemicellulose is a main constituent, which is responsible for increasing the BOD values; because lignin is refractive material and it does not take part in BOD.Keywords

Digital signature is an essential component in cryptography. Digital signaturesguarantee end-to-end message integrity and authentication information about the origin of a message. In this paper we propose a new identification based digital signature scheme with weil pairing. Also we analyze security and efficiency of our scheme. Security of our scheme is based on expressing the torsion point of curve into linear combination of its basis points; it is more complicated than solving ECDLP(Elliptic Curve Discrete Logarithm Problem). We claim that our new identification based digital signature scheme is more secure and efficient than the existing scheme of Islam et al(S. K. Hafizul Islam, G.P. The research focus is on determining the key store atmospherics influencing consumer's decision to patronize a retail store especially in context to shopping of Apparels&Lifestyle products. The store atmospherics were selected as constructs from retail and marketing literature and reduced to manageable factors using Exploratory Factor Analysis. The data was collected from 400 respondents through multistage sampling technique from districts of Jalandhar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Chandigarh (U.T.) and N.C.R. (Gurgaon).The Multiple Regression Analysis technique is applied to ascertain relationship between key store atmospherics and retail store patronage. The results of the study revealed that consumers perceptions towards retail store atmospherics can be grouped into four factors - Store Location and Customer Services ; Store Ambience and Design ; Product Quality and Features and Instore Customer Convenience and all the atmospheric factors except store location and customer services were critical determinants in influencing the consumer's retail store patronage behavior for apparels and lifestyle products. The study has been an effort in the direction to understand apparels shoppers changing preferences for the choice of a retail store. The study offers retail marketers to identify the significant dimensions of store atmospherics and tested the same to develop a holistic customer experience while shopping. The study is limited in geographical terms as it covered principal cities of Punjab and one region of Haryana i.e. Gurgaon. Due to this the study can offer implications restricted to the regions covered.Keywords

Quantitative structure properties relationship (QSPR) study has been performed on the series of benzene and acyl compounds. In the present work we are concerned about the modeling of ultrasonic velocity. For this purpose we have performed regression analysis and several significant models were proposed. The QSPR models suggest that physicochemical parameter such as D, IOR, St show best result towards ultrasonic velocity of benzene derivatives and topological parameters such as 0χ, 1χ, 2χ have been found more prominent for modeling of ultrasonic velocity of acyl derivatives. The predictive ability of QSPR models were cross validated by evaluating of the residual activity, appreciable cross validated R2 values (R2 cv) by leave one out (LOO) technique.Keywords

Aim: A pharmacoeconomic analysis to determine the relative cost-effectiveness of timolol 0.5%, brinzolamide 1% and brimonidine 0.2% eye drops in treatment of Primary Open Angle Glaucoma (POAG)/ocular hypertension (OHT). Settings and Design: Comparative, open, randomized, parallel group prospective study. Materials and Methods: 60 patients of POAG or ocular hypertension were included in this study. Time period of study was 6 weeks. 60 eyes of 60 patients were included in the study. Patients were divided randomly into 3 groups of 20 each. Patients in group A, B and C received timolol, brinzolamide and brimonidine respectively. One drop of each medication was instilled twice a day at 9 am and 9 pm daily for 6 weeks. IOP was measured on day 0 at 9 am (before administration of drugs) and then at 11 am, to get baseline IOP. IOP was again measured on subsequent visits at 9 am and 11 am. Treatment outcome was number of mm Hg fall in IOP induced by the study drug. The daily cost of each drug was calculated by maximum retail price and the average number of drops per bottle. The cost‑effectiveness was then calculated as the cost of drug/mm Hg fall in IOP. Statistics: Paired ‘t’ test was used to analyze the parameters within the group. Independent samples t‑test was used to compare the efficacy of drugs with each other. Results: The % reduction of brimonidine, timolol and brinzolamide at end of 6 weeks was 21.43 ± 3.06%, 24.87 ± 2.46% and 18.78 ± 1.73% respectively. Timolol was superior in efficacy to other two drugs. The difference was statistically significant between the efficacy of timolol and brinzolamide (p < 0.001) as well as timolol and brimonidine (p = 0.003). There was no statistical significant difference in the efficacy of brimonidine when compared to brinzolamide (p=0.26). Timolol (5.87 ± 0.83 Rs/mm lowering after 6 weeks) was found to be most cost-effective followed by brimonidine (46.83 ± 7.37) and then brinzolamide (60.49 ± 6.77) in lowering IOP. Conclusion: All three drugs under the present study are useful in the treatment of POAG/OHT, but timolol is a better choice than other two drugs because of greater reduction in IOP and greater cost-effectiveness.Keywords
