Abstract

The incidence of head injuries is growing with increased mechanization in industry, and an increase in high velocity mode of transport. The injuries could also be caused by a penetrating or blunt force either by direct violence or indirectly. The present study was conducted in admitted cases to Emergency section, J.N. Medical College Hospital, A.M.U. Aligarh. All the dead (162) cases (n = 2850) of head injury reported from 01/01/2008 to 31/12/2009 for treatment are included in the study. Most of the cases of fatal head injury belong to younger age group (15-44yrs) comprising of 56.88% with male preponderance of 74.69%with majority of the cases belonging to road traffic accident (62.97%).Scalp injury in 94.00 %cases where as 65% were cases of skull fractures and subdural hemorrhage(82.09%) was most common intracranial injury.

Abstract

"In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious and The Most Merciful" "What does Islam say regarding self-hatred and self-harm? Does Islam condemn situational depression? What about clinical depression? What about depression over our limited human knowledge -our inability to fully understand everything- is it a trust issue with Allah (SWT)?" This is a very interesting issue, because according to psychological studies, in modern era a considerable percentage of people alive are subject to several kind of depression including small children. There are many reasons for depression such as personal, social and economical matters. In present competitive world, people are continuously struggle for achieving success in their life. Sometime, they achieve their goal while defeated and feel defeated, helpless and depressed. The Islamic system aims to create balance in a Muslim's life, by putting life matters into perspective, rearranging our accordingly, harmonizing all circles of relationships between the individual and his inner or outer environments.

Abstract

Animal studies shows that at a much based level, animals tend to leave some mark indicating territorial boundaries like urinating, rubbing a body on the tree etc. In case of chance meeting the strong would dominate over the weaker. The male animal tends to follow the female everywhere. Each species have characteristic mania of fighting adversities like lions blow up there mane, elephants flap and race after the enemy, etc. in any overt show of strength and aggression. The member shall risk a fight to comer female. However, in case of sports aggressive overtures are shown in ready display of strength and stamina. People tend to use illegal but realistic means to boost up their strength or in other words their overt aggression. This is supplemented by chemicals known as "doping in sports". The present paper discusses such an aspect with emphasis on psychobiology of aggression.
