The role of women worldwide is undergoing a dramatic change. Women today share the podium with men in almost all the fields, be it in the kitchen or in the armed services. Working women are no longer a rarity and are now accepted as an integral part of the working force. Indian organizations and educational institutions have also experienced a steady increase in the number of women at managerial position and this pattern is bound to continue in the future as well. Women in educational management are finally coming of age. The transformation of the Indian woman from an enigmatic figure covered in meters of fabric, to today's educated, successful and accomplished professional has not been without great personal sacrifices. This image is as real and alive as the arduous path she has traveled to arrive at her current destination. These are women who have broken shackles thousands of years old, who have walked a previously non traversed path, who have had the courage to make new beginnings and pay the price for the choices they have made. With reference to the above, the authors attempt to carry out interviews of ten successful women in higher educational management in Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad and Mehsana city of Gujarat state. This paper covers in-depth interviews of the so called women leaders who have contributed immense success in the higher education management area. The paper attempts to unearth major barriers, both external and internal, imperative characteristics and suggestions on the basis of practical interviews and well supported research data from India and abroad. It also focuses on various managerial qualities required to be successful administrators in the field of higher education in particular. It also discusses several challenges to women educational managers in their path of success. Qualitative research analysis has been considered for the purpose of data analysis. Last but not least, this study attempts to establish valuable and expensive suggestions for future women educational mangers in India in comparison to the scenario abroad. The paper also analyzes the initiatives taken by government and management in this regard. The approach of this study is conceptual based on a descriptive type. This paper is based on Gerontological issues and is placed here based on secondary data. The Indian tradition always sticks to the well- being of elderly in terms of physical, emotional, mental, economic, social, and spiritual contexts. But alarming physical and mental hassles of silver citizen in present day society now compel the psychologist and sociologists to think over the issue. The rapid socio-cultural changes in global level put in several problems to the population of ageing. Aligned to the above facts,the objective of the paper is to analyse the four components (Physical health, mental health, economic health,&social support) of the elderly population, in particular through the support of extensive literature search to enhance their 'holistic' health. The paper also aims to study the dimensions of social health for maintaining a healthy social life of the silver citizens in the society, adopted by the stakeholders, policy makers, administrative personnel and the general public, to help and enable the elderly to have a positive well- being within themselves and also in the society.Keywords

The wisdom of organisational leadership is adding new vistas on a continuum with enriched and applied research explorations for enhancing organisation effectiveness. It seems the golden saying ‘nothing is permanent’ seems to be very true as far as the arena of the organisational leadership is concerned in the global competitive scenario. This quote, without saying, highlights the corporate relationship of yesterday and today. There was a time when employees were treated like slaves. Today the time has changed and this changed time has also changed the leadership pattern which has evolved the concept of ‘servant leadership’. In short, this concept by Robert Greenleaf (1977) emphasized on nurturing, defending and empowering followers as the prime responsibility of a leader/manager to pertain organisational effectiveness.Aligning to the above, the present research paper is an honest attempt to focus the utility of the concept of ‘servant leadership’ and ‘change in employee-employer relationship’ with change in time. The extensive literature reviews followed by the interview analysis of six of the leaders-cum-managers in the corporate as well as private business organisations in the states of West Bengal and Gujarat are incorporated in the research papers. Real life interview analysis on application of servant leadership gives a glimpse of change in leadership style with change in time and importance of servant leadership in today’s competitive time.

Knowledge management is a process or a tool through which organization or institution creates, organizes, stores, disseminates and applies knowledge to achieve its ultimate objective of growth and development. Knowledge management plays a role in the increasing organizational effectiveness to share the best practices, handle issues and problems, enhance research aptitude, and improve people’s skills. The information and communication technology (ICT) is being considered very good technology, which is used to communicate, create, disseminate, store and manage information at any organisation or institution.
Considering the implacability of knowledge management in the higher education sector, the purpose of this research paper is to understand and explore relationship between knowledge management and the ICT. In this research, a sincere attempt has been made to analyse last fifteen years of research studies extensively, which proved the synergistic implication of KM and ICT in higher education institutions in the fast - developing competitive globalization era.
