The present paper highlights the occurrence of 31 species of very little known rare, endangered and red listed endemic plants in Velliangiri hills, a part of Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, the Western Ghats of Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu, India. These species are ecologically very important since they are strictly endemic and confined only to the hills of southern Western Ghats. Correct nomenclature, family, brief description together with phenological, distributional data, specimen examined and IUCN status are given for each species to facilitate further collection and easy identification.Keywords

Cloud computing is a new model of Internet applications and with the development of Web2.0 technologies, the digital libraries also make use of more Web2.0 ideas and technologies to improve their services and expansion of the complex network of high-end applications. .As a result, the use of cloud computing model as the underlying structure of the digital library can greatly improve library services in the fields of data security, data sharing and user experience, and it is the most cost-effective, the most reliable, scalable solutions. Recommender systems are found in many applications and these systems usually provide the user with a list of map reduce based on preference and prediction. By combining existing datasets, hybrid recommendation systems can be developed that considers both the job status and job completion time. We can import the web log dataset of size in Terabytes; a big data analysis device such as Hadoop is used. Hadoop is a software construction for scattered processing of large data sets. Hadoop uses Map Reduce model to perform distributed dispensation over clusters of computers to reduce the time involved in analyzing the web log features. The proposed system is reliable and fault tolerant when balanced to the existing approval systems as it collects the data from the user to predict the interest and analyses the item to find the features. The scheme is also adaptive as it updates the list repeatedly and finds the updated interest of the user. Tentative consequences show that the proposed system is more truthful than the existing recommender systems.Keywords

Brain is the wonderful organ of human body. It is the agent of information collection and transformation. The neural activity of the human brain starts between the 17th and 23rd week of prenatal development. It is believed that from this early stage and throughout life electrical signals are generated by the brain function but also the status of the whole body. Understanding of neuronal functions and neurophysiologic properties of the brain function together with the mechanisms underlying the generation of signals and their recording is, however, vital for those who deal with these signals for detection, diagnosis, and treatment of brain disorders and the related diseases. This research paper concentrated only on brain tumor detection. Using minimum electrode location the brain tumor possibility is detected. This paper is separated into two parts: the First part deals with electrode location on the scalp and the second part deals with how the fuzzy logic rule based algorithm is applied for estimation of brain tumor from EEG. Basically 8 locations are identified. After acquiring the pure EEG signal Fuzzy Logic Rule is applied to predict the possibility of brain tumor.Keywords

In order to cater to the scientific demand for deep ocean exploration with human presence, manned submersible capable of operating up to 6000 m depth is being designed and developed at National Institute of Ocean Technology. The submersible can accommodate three personnel inside the confined space volume of 4.8 m3 human capsule (personnel sphere) for total endurance of 108 h (12 h normal mission and 96 h in case of emergency). Human Metabolic Simulator was developed by following Det Norske Veritas guideline to validate the life support system design during initial stages of qualification inside the personnel sphere. (Balsaminaceae), a stenoendemic and critically endangered species has been rediscovered from the type locality, Mukurthi National Park, a part of Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve in Nilgiris district, Tamil Nadu, India after a gap of 92 years. The type was collected by Edward Barnes in 1929. Nomenclatural citation, detailed description based on fresh plant materials, phenology and notes on its actual range of distribution are provided here along with illustration and colour photo plate, for its easy identification and future reference.Keywords
