Nowadays, in biomedical field, imaging techniques are used to discover the abnormalities in the particular region. Lesion is an area in an organ or tissue, which has suffered from damage through injury or disease, such as a wound, ulcer, abscess, or tumor. Lesion area of the tissue is detected using source images. Wireless capsule endoscopy image of the gastrointestinal tract is used to find the lesion. Preprocessing of image is done using denoising by multidimensional filter. Denoised image is edge detected during which the edge points in an image differentiation is highlighted by Sobel edge detection. The value of each pixel in the edge detected image is evaluated based on the comparison of corresponding pixel in the input image with its neighboring pixels by the morphological operation. Erosion and dilation operation erodes and adds pixels respectively to the edge detected image, so that the value of the output pixel has the maximum pixel value. During segmentation, the pixels are grouped using superpixel algorithm to reduce the complexity while maintaining high diagnostic accuracy. As a final point, the Correlation coefficient test finds the spoiled area between healthy tissue and abnormal tissue by color encoding. This intends to identify the suspected abnormal areas (lesion) from the source images.Keywords

A simple and specific UV derivative spectroscopy and RP-HPLC was developed for buclizine hydrochloride. These methods are carried out by using 234 nm as the wavelength and 100% v/v methanol as solvent. Second derivative spectroscopy was developed to minimize the interferences. The linearity ranges were 10-50 mcg/ml for derivative spectroscopy and 1-10 mcg/ml for the RP-HPLC respectively. Chromatographic separation was made on Phenomenex Luna C18 (250 mm × 4.6 mm, 5μ) column at room temperature with 1.0 ml/min as flow rate and the injection volume was 20 μl. The retention time was found to be 7.15 min. The high recovery and low relative standard deviation confirms the suitability of the methods for the determination of buclizine hydrochloride in pharmaceutical dosage forms.Keywords

The study was aimed at evaluating the antitumor and antioxidant activities of ethanol extract of Pseudarthria viscida (Family: Fabaceae) against Ehrlich ascites carcinoma (EAC)-bearing Swiss albino mice. The ethanol extract of Pseudarthria viscida (EEPV) was administered at the doses of 100 and 200 mg/kg in mice for 14 days after 24 h of tumor inoculation. The effect of EEPV on the growth of transplantable murine tumor, life span of EAC bearing mice, hematological profile and liver biochemical parameters were estimated. Treatment with EEPV decreased the tumor volume and viable cell count thereby increasing the life span of EAC bearing mice and brought back the hematological parameter more or less normal level. The effect of EEPV decreases the level of lipid peroxidation and protein content and significantly increased the level of antioxidant enzymes such as Catalase (CAT), Glutathione (GSH) and Superoxide dismutase (SOD). These observations are suggestive of the protective effect of EEPV against Ehrlich Ascites Carcinoma (EAC).
