The infra orbital foramen is an anatomical structure with an important location, through which the infra orbital vessels and nerve exits. The present study was conducted to determine the mean distance between the infra orbital formen and infra orbital margin, mean distance between piriform aperature and infra orbital foramen, mean distance between the anterior nasal spine and infra orbital foramen on both side and as well as shape of foramen. Total 125 skulls were used for this study, the results were the mean distance between the infra orbital foramen and the infra orbital margin was 7.13±1.78mm, on right side it was 7.06±1.81mm and 7.20±1.71mm on left. The mean distance between the infra orbital foramen and the piriform aperature was 18.13±1.85mm, on right side it was 18.01±2.03mm and 18.25±2.01mm on left. The mean distance between infra orbital foramen and the anterior nasal spine on right was 33.97±5.80mm and left was 34.73±4.70mm. The knowledge of infra orbital foramen is very helpful for neurovascular surgeons.Keywords

Foramen Vesalius is known to be an inconstant foramen, which appears in the anteriomedial side of the foramen oval. It is classified into the open type and closed type. The importance of this foramen lies in the fact that an infected thrombus from an extracranial source may reach cavernous sinus. We have conducted this study into 250 sides out of 125 skulls. The foramen Vesalius found in 90 sides out of the 250 sides, with in that 55 were right and 35 were left side. The incidence was 36%; out of that 22% was right and 14% left side. We have observed the incidence of bilateral and unilateral foramen Vesalius also, it was 24% that is 30 out of 125 skulls and unilateral was 16% that was 20 skulls out of 125 skulls. The knowledge of foramen Vesalius is important for neurosurgeons and anat omists.Keywords

The mental foramen is a funnel like opening located on the anterolateral aspect of the mandible, which marks the termination of the mandibular canal, mental nerve and vessels exits through it. The mental foramen is an important landmark to facilitate diagnostic , surgical local anesthetic and other invasive procedures of the oral and maxillofacial region. Totally 70 mandibles were used for this study. It was found that, the mean transverse diameter was 3.19 ± 0.82mm and the mean longitudinal diameter 2.50 ± 0.61mm. The location of mental foramen was found 72.43% in line with the longitudinal axis of the second molar teeth, 13.57% was present in between first and second molar teeth. In relation with location the mean distance between sympysis menti and foramen was 26.62 ± 4.89mm on right side and left side it was 26.40 ± 4.32mm. The mean distance between mental foramen and alveolar margin was 13.80 ± 3.56mm on right side and 13.21 ± 3.75mm on left. The mean distance between mental foramen and lower border of mandible was 12.40 ± 2.70mm on right side and 12.21 ± 2.89mm on left. The shape of foramen was oval in 65%. The knowledge of mental foramen is very important for blockage of mental nerve.Keywords
