Alcohol abuse and its related problems are on the increase in India. Most of the problems can be minimized, by making the public aware of the complications related to alcohol abuse. A descriptive evaluator approach was used for this study. The study was carried out at chova higher secondary school at Kannur among higher school boys . The sample comprised of 100 students. Sample was selected by using convenient sampling technique. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics (paired t-test and regression coefficient). The results of this study showed that school students in general lacked knowledge and attitude (pretest knowledge score is 8.69 and attitude score is 24.98) about alcohol abuse and its adverse effects before the education programme. The findings of this study support the need for conducting educational programme to increase the knowledge and attitude (post-test knowledge score and attitude score is 16.69 and 44.45, t value is 18.937 with regard to knowledge and 29.92 with regard to attitude which is significant at 0.01 level of school students on alcohol abuse and its related problems. Educating the youth and providing them with correct information can help them to avoid bad habits and develop as healthy citizens. Keywords

An efficient development of median & adaptive median filter is presented for removal of salt & pepper noise from digital Images. The algorithms of these two filters are discussed in detail. Simulation is done using Matlab and Modelsim software’s. When sending images through channels, there are some corrupted images by salt and pepper noise, due to unknown communication. Impulse noise is also referring as salt and pepper noise. The fixed valued impulse noise corrupts the true intensity value in random position with corruptive values in the extreme ranges, i.e ‘0’ and ‘255’ called as salt and pepper noise. An output error signal is activated if a corrupted image pixel is detected, then, a partial or complete reconfiguration can be performed to remove the configuration memory error. The noise free images are fully recovered with minimum signal distortion. The nonlinear digital filters are best to remove impulse noise. Adaptive Median filter identifies the noisy pixels and make them to arrange as original pixels without noisy pixels.- Job Stress between Male and Female Health Workers in Selected Primary Health Centres

The research approach adopted for this study was comparative and descriptive survey. Objectives are to assess the job stress experienced by the male and female health workers. Compare the job stress of male and female health workers. Associate the job stress of male and female health workers with their selected demographic variables. A study was conducted in selected Primary Health Centre (Shanthigram, Dudda, Mosahalli, Salgama, Pension mohala) at Hassan. A sample comprised of 30 male and 30 female health workers on the alternative days the investigator selected 4 health workers by using Non-probability convenient sampling. The research design selected for the study was descriptive non-experimental design. The tool was used for the data collection was structured interview questionnaire, which has two sections. Section-A provides about socio-demographic data and section-B deals with job stress scale. The results of this study showed that the overall mean job stress score of male health workers was 27.92 with the standard deviation 23.14 and female health workers was 24.33 with the standard deviation 6.38. The overall mean job stress score of female health workers was significantly less than the male health workers. The ANOVA value was significant at p < 0.01 level showed that there was an association between satisfactions of job with the job stress male health workers. The ANOVA value was significant at p < 0.05 level showed that there was an association between leisure time activities and habitants with the job stress female health workers. There was no significant association between job stress and demographic variables like age type of family, number of children, social support, religion, additional qualification, income, working hours and year of experience. Keywords
