- Perceived Mental Health among Students of Private and Government Schools

Since, private and government sectors differs to each other in terms of their cultural values, other related opportunities and problems, therefore, the present investigation is planned to make a comparative study of mental health among students of private and government schools. It was hypothesized that students of private schools would have better mental health as compared to the students of government schools. The sample of the present investigation consists of (N = 160) respondents, 80 students from each private and government senior secondary schools were randomly selected from different parts of Aligarh, U.P. A highly standardized mental health inventory consisting of 56 items developed by Jagdish and Srivatava (1983) was administered individually to each respondent of the sample. This inventory assesses 6 dimensions of mental health such as self- evolution, perception of reality , integration of personality, autonomy and stability, growth oriented attitude and environmental mastery. In this inventory high score is indicative of good mental health and low score is indicative of poor mental health. Finally, ttest was employed to analyze the data of the present research. Statistical analysis reveals significant difference between means of two groups of private and government schools. The findings of this research may have its own significance and far- reaching implications in this context.Keywords

The present research intends to understand the influence of manager's perception of Ego-Strength and Quality of Work Life on their affective commitment. The study was carried out in different private and public organizations/ company located at Delhi and its NCR (National Capital Region). Data were collected from 300 managers through convenience random sampling method. Analysis of the data was done using stepwise multiple regression analysis and t-test respectively. Result revealed that in private undertakings neither Ego-Strength nor Quality of Work Life influenced affective commitment of managers. Quality of work life has influenced/ predicted affective commitment of managers in public undertakings only. Results further revealed significant difference between managers of private and public undertakings on all the measured variables such as Ego-Strength, Quality of Work Life and Affective Commitment. The findings imply that the organizations in both the sectors need to understand and manage managers' Ego-Strength and provide them with suitable interpersonal atmosphere to strengthen their ego so that their level of Commitment toward the organization could be enhanced. Results are explained in the light of present scenario in existing private and public undertakings.Keywords

Job Attitudes can be defined as summary evaluations of psychological objects in the work domain. The object could be almost anything in the world around us. Attitudes reflect a person's likes and dislikes toward other persons, objects, events and activities in their environment. Therefore, it makes sense to study and know about attitude because strong attitudes will very likely affect a person's behaviour such as attitudes toward supervision, pay, benefits, promotion or anything that might trigger positive or negative reactions. The present study is aimed to examine differences between managers of private and public undertakings on job attitudes. The study was earned out in different private and public organizations located in Delhi. Data were collected from 300 managers (150 managers from private and 150 from public undertakings). The job attitude scale developed by Srivastava (1999) which assesses numerous dimensions of employees'job attitudes was used. Analysts of the data was done using t-test. Results revealed significant difference between managers of private and public undertakings on job attitudes. The finding simply that the organizations in both the sectors need to understand and manage managers' job attitudes and provide them with suitable interpersonal atmosphere to strengthen their positive job attitudes so that their level of performance in the organization could be enhanced. Results are explained in the light of present scenario in existing private and public undertakings.Keywords

Hippophae rhamnoides L., commonly called sea buckthorn, is a core dicot of the family Elaeagnaceae placed in the order Rosales. The plant is a treasure trove of bioactive substances with a potential to sustain more than one kind of industry. Countries with its natural populations are eyeing it as a new millennium food, as well as health and beauty resource. Valued for all its parts, the species is prized particularly for its fruit pulp and seed oil, which among others are a rich source of vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids. In Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), India, the species grows luxuriantly in Ladakh along riversides of the Indus, Suru, Shyok and Zanskar. H. rhamnoides L. is strictly dioecious in majority of the populations surveyed.References

The intellectual property (IP) regime grants the exclusive right in the form of Copyright to the creators of digital works to use and distribute those works for their financial benefits. But with the advancement in digital technology, the copyright realm is facing the challenge of 'digital piracy' i.e. unauthorized use of and access to copyrighted works. To tackle it, the IP community has advanced a mechanism called Digital Rights Management (DRM). India, in order to bring its copyright law in conformity with international standards and to prevent the revenue loss to original content creators caused by wide spread evil of digital piracy, has introduced in 2012, inter alia, three new provisions to the Copyright Act, 1957 under its Section 2 (xa), Section 65A and 65B to specifically deal with Digital Rights Management. The research paper is an attempt to analyse and evaluate the efficacy of these new provisions and suggests some concrete submissions to remove various lacunae and to strengthen mechanism of the digital rights management vis-a-vis the rights of consumers.
