Information about the occurrence of antibiotic substances in bryophytes and the medicinal use of bryophytes are sporadic, particularly in India, in comparison to developed countries. Despite of a long history of medicinal use of bryophytes by various tribal and local communities across the world, their significant utilization in medicines is still a dream due to lack of concise ethnobotanical information, scarcity of material, degrading habitats etc. Present article is an attempt to create awareness about this group of plants.- Antibacterial Activity of Anoectangium clarum Mitt. In recent years bryophytes have emerged as potential plants for many bioactive phytochemicals with antimicrobial efficacies. In present study antibacterial activity of Anoectangium clarum Mitt. has been assessed using various extracts. For this assessment agar diffusion method is used against selected pathogenic fungus. Tetracycline is used as positive control. The ethanolic extract of moss exhibited a superior effect than the extract prepared in methanol. The utmost effect was observed against Escherichia coli followed by Salmonella typhimurium and Bacillus subtilis. This study projects Anoectangium clarum as an eco-friendly antibacterial agent. Keywords

Pharmaceutical clean rooms are controlled area in which the concentrations of viable and non-viable airborne particles are controlled to specified limits. The viable monitoring includes microbiological assessment. Viable contamination controlled environments are used for a variety of purposes within the pharmaceutical industry. Different sources are there due to which pharmaceutical controlled environments are getting contaminated but one of the main sources is air born particulate matter. The predictable microbial assessment of the contamination can be done by applying best microbiological approaches, methodologies and historical data of the area used for the manufacturing. This review article outlines the, designs, control measures, risk of microbiological contamination and quality rationales related to the clean rooms.
