Abstract

The present study is for conducted to evaluate critically a Government project named Sabla: Rajiv Gandhi Scheme for Empowerment of the Adolescent Girls. The Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, in the year 2000, came up with a scheme called Kishori Shakti Yojana (KSY), which was implemented using the infrastructure of the Integrated Child Development Services Scheme (ICDS). The objective of this scheme was to improve the nutrition and health status of girls in the age‐group of 11 to 18 years, to equip them to improve and upgrade their home‐based and vocational skills, and to promote their overall development, including awareness about their health, personal hygiene, nutrition and family welfare and management. Thereafter, the Nutrition Programme for Adolescent Girls (NPAG) was initiated as a pilot project in the year 2002-03 in 51 identified districts across the country to address the problem of under‐nutrition among AGs(Adolescent Girls).This evaluation is being done to review the performance of the programme and to evaluate weather this project has being able to achieve the target, it was meant for.

Abstract

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan is an effort to universalize elementary education by community-ownership of the school system. It is a response to the demand for quality basic education all over the country. The SSA program is also an attempt to provide an opportunity for improving human capabilities to all children, through provision of community-owned quality education in a mission mode. This paper is an attempt to appraise the viability of the project in different states. Though, this project has got huge success initially but thereafter it gradually lost its color.

Abstract

The aim of the present study is to investigate the gender differences in education and vocations in rural Rajasthan in Bikaner division. The sample consists of random sampling100 from each districts.The data was collected by the survey method. The findings indicate that there exists the differences in boy child and girl child in imparting education. Today in this time of globalization it is too important that in society male and female equally contribute for the society for the nation to do this equal growth of physical,social as well as professional growth is necessary so that both can contribute for the nation not only equally but qualitatively equal also. We know that better environment better education enhances for better upgrading of individual since a long time girl child is being discriminated from boy child.

Abstract

Cellulases are used in numerous industrial applications and for cellulose conversion to value added products. A cellulase producing thermophilic Aspergillus fumigatus was isolated from paper industry effluent sample after 72 h incubation on potato dextrose agar at 45°C. In the present study the production of cellulase enzyme by Aspergillus fumigatus cultivated on wheat bran: rice straw (1:4) using solid state fermentation (SSF) technique. The ability to produce cellulase under varying conditions of temperature, pH, moisture content, and nitrogen sources was evaluated. The higher cellulase activity was obtained when the fungus was cultivated on substrate (wheat bran: rice straw (1:4)) with moisture content (1:4), pH 5.5, urea as nitrogen source and incubated in environmental chamber at 45°C for 3 days as it give 1.85FPU/ml.

Abstract

Vegetables included in daily schedule of diet viz., sweet pepper, cauliflower, carrot, cabbage, lettuce, spinach, tomato, potato, reddish, and bottle gourd are good for human health. Vegetables intake is beneficial for obese as they furnish fat to a lesser extent. The determination of nutrient analysis (total protein, fat, carbohydrate, ash, energy value and moisture content) of vegetables is important to plan the diet for various therapeutic purposes. Macro nutrients viz., calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), potassium (K), sodium (Na), and phosphorus (P) and micro nutrients viz., iron (Fe), zinc (Zn), manganese (Mn), copper (Cu), nickel (Ni) and selenium (Se) elements have importance for the several purposes like formation of blood, bones and teeth even other tissues, osmoregulation of body fluids, control of physico-chemical process etc. This paper elaborates the various methods used to determine the nutrient profile and mineral analysis of vegetables in detail.

Abstract

Objectives: Position tracking system is completely based on mobile user position for indoor technologies using RADAR System. The RADAR system is very useful to track an object; its work on the radio frequency. Methods/Analysis: This system carries a number of base stations in the indoor areas (research center, organization and buildings). These measures the time of transmission or received signal and also estimated the distance of the mobile user. Findings: To measure the actual and estimated range of the mobile user inside the indoor using RADAR after getting the position of the mobile user for continuous tracking user locations, store the information of the user in the database. Novelty /Improvement: This database contains ten entries of the mobile user. This complete system is very effective and future used system done on the Matlab programming and Simulink.

Abstract

Adolescence is a sensitive period with many transitions experienced by teens. Many factors exert influence on an individual during adolescence; these influences may be psychological or physical in nature. Influence of (& influence on) perceptions of an adolescent play a crucial role in an individual's development. These perceptions may relate to their health, peers, or the level of control they feel they have on their lives. This research investigates the perceptions of adolescents on health locus of control, peer pressure, and cognitive triad. The purpose of the present research was to study the correlations between cognitive triad, health locus of control and peer pressure among late adolescents. For this, the study includes a sample of 200 college going late adolescents with mean age of 18.165 years, of which 100 are males and 100 are females. Further, out of these 100 males and 100 females, 50 are from rural background and 50 are from urban background. The results shows that males are more dependent upon external factors and powerful others for their HLOC as do females, while females are more inclined towards internal factors than do males and adolescents belonging from rural area are more inclined upon internal and chance factors, while urban adolescents are more dependent upon powerful others for their HLOC. The results for peer pressure indicate that rural males perceive more peer pressure than urban males and urban females perceive more peer pressure than rural females. For cognitive triad the results show that females and rural adolescents, in comparison to males and urban adolescents, respectively, have more distorted thoughts about the self, the world, and the future.

The total sample of 60 was collected randomly Occupational Stress Index by Shrivastav and Singh was used to collect the data. The results showed no significant difference in stress between part-time and full time working women.

Abstract

Membrane proteins perform diverse functions in living organisms such as transporters, receptors and channels. The functions of membrane proteins have been investigated with several computational approaches, such as developing databases, analyzing the structure function relationship and establishing algorithms to discriminate different type of membrane proteins. However, compilation of bioinformatics resources for the functions of membrane proteins is not well documented compared with their structural aspects. The purpose of the present work was to assess the study of transmembraneous protein using bioinformatics and data mining. Bioinformatics is the application of information technology to the field of molecular biology. Protein structure prediction is the important application of bioinformatics. Bioinformatics also provide researchers with software's and tools for analyzing the sequence data and deriving biologically meaningful information from a string of letters. By using application of bioinformatics one can predict isoelectric point, molecular weight, transmembrane helix and secondary structure of transmembrane protein.

Abstract

Image compression applications attempts to deepen the number of bits imperative to digitally symbolize an image while maintaining its articulate visual excellence. Image compression is a procedure that is very vastly used for the integral and resourceful convey of data. Image compression application and techniques used for image to be send over to the internet. It not only reduces the dimension of realistic file to be transferred but at the equivalent time reduces the storage space requirements, cost of the data transferred, actual form of data, clearly displayed and the time required for the transfer. It makes the diffusion progression faster, provides superior bandwidth and security beside illegitimate use of data. Image compression has divide in two type's lossy image compression and lossless image compression. In lossy image compression there is no loss of data and lossless image compression is used to retain original multimedia object.

Abstract

Self-esteem as the experience of capable of meeting life challenge and being worthy of happiness. In today’s world self-esteem has been viewed as an important tool to face the competitive life. The study was conducted in Hisar district of Haryana state. All the adolescents studying in 9^th and 10^th standard falling in the age group 15 – 16 years were included in the sample for the study. Self-esteem was taken as dependent variable. Self-Esteem was assessed by Rosenberg’s Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) by Rosenberg’s (1989). Independent variable was socio-economic variables which included adolescent gender, caste, family type, family size, parental occupation and family income. Result revealed that non-significant differences were obtained in self – esteem mean scores when compared against family structure and annual income. This reflects that family structure and annual income make no significant differences in the scores of self – esteem of adolescents. Non-significant differences were established for selfesteem as per family size, caste, number of siblings and annual income. However comparison of mean scores revealed that adolescents of large families had slightly better self-esteem than adolescents living in medium and small families.

Abstract

Elderly people may suffer from the multiple health disorders due to the vulnerability for many physical and mental disturbances. Quality of life in elderly population can be affected by many environmental factors. The aim of this study was assess the quality of life and influence of gender on quality of life of senior citizens in Hisar district of Haryana state. This cross-sectional study was carried out on 400 senior citizens (male=200; female=200) with age > 60 years. The participants surveyed in this study were of senior citizens who were living in the rural and urban community. Quality of life of senior citizens was accessed by QOL scale developed by World Health Organization (1996). Independent t-test was used to compare differences and chi-square between the total score of quality of life and influential factors. Result regarding all domain of quality of life were found non-significant differences for physical domain, psychological domain, level of independence domain, social relationship domain, environment domain, spirituality domain and overall quality of life (Z=0.08), (Z=0.30), (Z=0.66), (Z= 0.20), (Z= 1.44), (Z=l .70) and (Z=0.46) respectively. Result indicated regarding influence of gender on quality of life of senior citizens that all the domains of quality of life were not significantly associated with male and female senior citizen.

Abstract

A study was conducted to assess the Effect of “CBTP” on knowledge regarding innovative methods among nursing faculties at Govt. College of nursing Jagdalpur. A total 30 teachers were selected using convenient sampling technique. A structured questionnaire was used to collect the data. The result revealed that the pretest mean was 6.7 which increased to 20.8 in the post test and there is significant association between pre test knowledge and age of the nursing faculty. The study concludes that capacity building training programme was significantly effective in increasing the knowledge regarding innovative methods among nursing faculties.

Abstract

Employees and organizations are facing a very dynamic work environment today embedded with technological advancement and increasing competition demanding a proactive approach from both the side. The traditional work design methods where management used to frame the tasks and responsibilities of their employees are now a days replaced by modern approaches of job design where employees are actively participating in framing and altering their tasks in their jobs to fulfill their own as well as organizational goals. The proactive behavior of employees where they themselves take initiative to change the way they approach their job physically, socially or cognitively is called job crafting. The current study aimed at studying to what extend the job crafting behavior of employees relate with their engagement level at work and to what extend this relationship is moderated by selfefficacy.
