Background:
Neurodevelopmentaltherapy (NDT) refers to those activities that enable the child to practice the perfect skills. These types of exercises are used to improve movement and postural reactions; thereby it improves gross motor function in children with cerebral palsy. The specific objective of the study is to evaluate the effect of NDT in gross motor function of children with cerebral palsy.

Background
Cognitive processing plays an important role in motor performance. Attention is defined as the information processing capacity of an individual. In dual-task paradigms, individuals are asked to perform two tasks simultaneously. The specific objective of the study is to evaluate the difference between spatio-temporal gait variables in single motor task versus dual tasks condition in which motor task is combined with the performance of a cognitive task.
Methods
This is a Descriptive study. 100 children were selected. Each subject performed the following single and dual walking tasks: walking alone, walking while identifying pictures of common objects (visual identification), walking while identifying sounds (auditory identification). Gait speed, cadence, and step length were compared among the three gait tasks using analysis of variance (ANOVA).
Major Findings
Gait speed was lower under both dual-task conditions compared to the single-task walking condition. Both cadence and step length decreased with concurrent performance of the visual and auditory identification tasks. The obtained F value was significant at the level of p<0.05.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the immediate effect of a 4 week Motor Relearning Programme (MRP) on physical performance and weight bearing on the lower limbs in sitting position in post stroke hemiparetics.
MethodologyTen subjects with at least 3 months post stroke were assigned in a single group by convenient sampling. All the subjects participated in MRP. Amount of lower limbs weight bearing was measured before and after training by weighing machine and physical performance by using Fugl Meyer Assessment scale.
ResultsA mean improvement in physical performance after MRP was 52.00± 19.629 and the ‘t’ value of 8.377 was observed in the study with p<0.05. A mean improvement in weight bearing in involved and uninvolved value of AD, ID, CD after MRP was 3.400±3.134, 1.700±0.674, 7.800±2.485, 4.700±3.267, 4.400±2.547 and 0.000±1.247 and the ‘t’ value of 3.431, 7.965, 9.924, 4.548, 5.462, 0.000 was observed in this study with p<0.05 respectively.
ConclusionThis study provides evidence for the efficacy of MRP on physical performance and weight bearing on the lower limbs in sitting position in post stroke hemiparetic subjects.
