Self Care Behaviour of the Diabetic Patients in a Primary Health Center in Bali

The main problem of diabetes management is the patient’s attitude toward their illness, because they have different concepts and beliefs. This study was to investigate the illness perception, the motivation, and the selfcare behavior in patients type 2 diabetes. This research was used cross‑sectional approach. The sample size in this study was 177 patients with diabetes mellitus type 2. Stratified random sampling was used in this study. Motivation itself accounted for 43.2% of the variance in diet, 11.4% of the variance in exercise, 9.1% of the variance in blood sugar testing, 11.7% of the variance in medication adherence, 10.1% of the variance in foot care, p < .005. Illness perception accounted for 23.4% of the variance in selfcare behavior, 23.4% of the variance in selfcare behavior, 23.4% of the variance in selfcare behavior, 23.4% of the variance in selfcare behavior, 23.4% of the variance in selfcare behavior p < .005.
