Based on the available research on PEEK materials, to find that whether PEEK material has favourable properties and can enhance Osseointegration, so that they can be utilize as dental implant body/fixture.

Appropriate selection of the implant biomaterial is a key factor for long term success of implants .The biologic environment does not accept completely any material so to optimize biological performance, implants should be selected to reduce the negative biologic response while maintaining adequate function. This review makes an effort to summarize peek implant bio material.

Materials and Method: A literature review of English articles was conducted by using MEDLINE PubMed database restricted to 2010 - 2019 and constructed according PRISMA guidelines. Search terms included: “Dental Implants” [Mesh]) AND (“PEEK”), (“PEEK Dental Implant” [MeSH]) AND (“Osseointegration”), (“PEEK Dental Implant”).

Results: Initially, the search resulted in 106 papers out of which 19 articles were excluded due to irrelevant titles and abstracts. Independent screenings of the abstracts were done to identify the articles related to the question in focus Eighty Seven studies were selected out of which 31 articles were further excluded dueto Articles and studies related to PEEK as Implant abutments,or implant restoration were excluded. Finally 21 articles were included in the review.

Abstract

Based on the available research on PEEK materials, to find that whether PEEK material has favourable properties and can enhance Osseointegration, so that they can be utilize as dental implant body/fixture.

This review makes an effort to summarize peek implant bio material.
