There are several reasons for automating the library activities especially computerizing library activities. On account of Information&knowledge explosion it has become essential for librarians to provide a master key to this repository of knowledge in the service, the librarian started mechanizing activities of libraries and research institution through various gadget. The aim of library is to provide access to proper information explosion, due to growing demands of the user and shrinking of financial resources, library cannot maintain all the reading materials on demand. With the library automation, which requires planning, designing and implementation the speed, accuracy and effectiveness of library operations can be improved. In this research paper effectiveness of library automation is being tested and result shows that library automation proves to be tremendous advantageous for the improvement of different services of library.Keywords

Interdisciplinary research helps to turn bi-modal nature of phenomenon into success as interdisciplinary research ensures the synergy between two contrasting modes or forms. However, students' attitude to interdisciplinary research has not been analysed. The purpose of the contribution is to analyse students' attitude to interdisciplinary research underpinning elaboration of a hypothesis on ensuring students' positive attitude to interdisciplinary research within university studies. The meaning of the key concepts of "interdisciplinary research" and "students' attitude" is studied. Moreover, the logical chain of analysis is shown: interdisciplinary research → students' attitude → empirical study within a multicultural environment. Directions of further research are proposed. The novel contribution of the paper is the notion and phases of interdisciplinary research worked out by the paper's authors.Keywords

The influx of technology into institutions of higher education has demanded changes to the traditional support structures at colleges and universities. Higher education students are using technology as a means to communicate with, and seek help from, university personnel, including academic advisors. The Internet is the decisive technology of the Information Age, as the electrical engine was the vector of technological transformation of the Industrial Age. This global network of computer networks, largely based nowadays on platforms of wireless communication, provides ubiquitous capacity of multimodal, interactive communication in chosen time, transcending space. The Internet is not really a new technology: its ancestor, the Arpanet, was first deployed in 1969 (Abbate 1999). But it was in the 1990s when it was privatized and released from the control of the U.S. Internet has the potential to eliminating geographic and prejudicial barriers. Few would deny that the Internet and the World Wide Web (WWW or Web) have the potential to revolutionize the way people conduct themselves in business, education, and personal relationships. Distance Learning Technologies (DTLs) have changed the face of correspondence education. The world has become smaller for those who use internet on a daily basis. In modern era most people today can hardly conceive of life without the internet.This study was conducted to explore the role of internet and web services on higher education and research. Use of internet by the students is being gradually increased in public universities. The universities are expanding the internet facilities to increase services to the teaching and learning communities. Digitization of libraries and internet links between the public universities libraries are in progress. It is expected that the use of internet would bring significant changes in higher education and research systems of developing nations and the institutions of higher education would attain a global standard.Keywords

Indian library professionals are faced with a plethora of challenges in the documentation and communication of indigenous knowledge and apart from this they are also facing problems in their day to day conversation with students and staff. These include the technology shortages, physical barriers, linguistic barriers, time management, stress management and the lack of legal frameworks at national and international level to support the library efforts to document and communicate indigenous knowledge. The paper discusses these challenges, looking at some of the lessons learnt and the ways to overcome them.Keywords
