Depression is one of the most common psychiatric disorders and, also a highly recurrent disorder with an increasingly younger age of onset for the initial episode. Depression in adolescence is under-recognized although its associated burden of illness is very high. Some frequent associations with depression in this age group are underachievement, poor lifestyle choices including substance abuse, and a high risk of the persistence of the illness into adulthood. The present study was aimed to examine the effect of age and gender in the experience of symptoms of depression among adolescents. The sample comprised of 50 males (25 early adolescents, 25 middle adolescents) and 50 females (25 early adolescents, 25 middle adolescents) adolescents in the age range of 12-18 years. Sample was selected by making use of purposive incidental sampling procedure. The results of 2X2 ANOVA revealed that female adolescents were significantly higher on depression as measured by Beck depression inventory, than male adolescents. Further, depression was found to be significantly higher in early adolescence as compared to middle adolescence. Keywords

Adolescence is a time of change in life and peer pressure is a main issue of discussion among different fraternities. Peer pressure refers to the influence exerted by a peer group in encouraging a person to change his or her attitudes values or behaviour in order to conform to group norms. Youth peer pressure is one of the most frequently referred to forms of peer pressure. It is particularly common because most youth spend large amounts of time in fixed groups regardless of their opinion of those groups. In addition to this, they may lack the maturity to handle pressure from friends. Peer relationships can be a powerful positive or negative influence. Friends and other ideals of the same age are main source of peer pressure because they affect an adolescent's decision making a lot. Keywords

Stress has always been a part of human existence. In the context of stress, organisational stress has been of great concern to the management, employees, and other stake holders of the organisation. One widely investigated research focus with relatively less semantic confusion pertains to the study of the impact of role stressors in organisations. The current study examined with relationship of different organizational role stressors with a positive parameter referring to life satisfaction. 400 female police personnel completed Pareek's organizational role stress scale and Alam and Srivastava's life satisfaction scale. The correlational results revealed the relevance of perceived inter-role distance, role stagnation, role erosion, role overload, and self role distance in lowered life satisfaction. Keywords

Present study is an attempt to study the differences between adult males on life satisfaction. Sample of the study consist 540 persons from villages of Haryana. Sample is further divided between three categories of migrant labours, below poverty line people and people who earn moderately of above poverty line persons (180 each). Age range of the whole sample is between 22 to 45 years. The life satisfaction scale constructed by Alam and Srivastava was used here. Results suggest that there are significant differences between different groups on life satisfaction. The mean scores clearly reveal that the migrant labours scored lower on life satisfaction followed by participants who were below poverty line. Relatively participants above poverty line evinced more life satisfaction, and it is very much understood because financial aspects determine the life satisfaction very much. Keywords
