A vast majority of women working in textile and apparel industries serve as sewing machine operators. Sitting in a fixed position constantly because of the sight requirements at the machine, leads to a static burden that threatens the health of the worker. Although the sewing process could provide a qualitative improvement and a flexible work style to the worker when it is treated as a whole, but female sewing machine operators as an individual in the workplace, are limited by the simple and repetitive tasks because of highly advanced labour divisions and no defined workplace setup. The present study was formulated with the objective of exploring the work profile of female sewing machine operators. The objective of the study also includes the investigation of health problems of female sewing machine operators. The present study was conducted in Hisar city of Haryana states, where 80 female sewing machine operators were selected, who were performing sewing activity from last 4 years. A pre tested and well planned questionnaire was used to along with interview schedule to collect the responses of the respondents.Keywords

Elder abuse is a single, or repeated act, or lack of appropriate action, occurring within any relationship where there is an expectation of trust, which causes harm or distress to an older person. India is the second most populated country in the world with a population of 1.3 billion, China being the first (Consensus, 2011). Out of this huge population, 53 million are females and 51 million are males. In this population divide the old age persons (both males & females) were 104 millions. The present study was conducted in Hisar and Rohtak districts from Haryana state with objective to know the impact of abusive behavior o f family members among elderly. From each selected district 30 elderly persons both male and female were selected through snowball technique. Thus, the total number of respondents were 60 elderly persons. A pretested interview schedule was used to collect data. The results highlighted that in respect to age, majority (41.6%) o f the respondents were belonged to the age group o f 60-69. In respect to marital status, maximum (45.00%) of the respondents were widow. Regarding family type, 68.4 per cent of the respondents were belonged to nuclear family. Majority of the respondents (38.4%) were retired. Maximum (48.4%) of the respondents having their monthly family income between up to Rs. 30000 per month. Maximum (58.4%) of the respondents agreed that they were financial abuse as well as misuse money/property by their family members followed by (50.00%) ofthe respondents having the problem of calling bad names/using abusive language, (46.7%) verbal/psychological abuse.Keywords

Compared with other people, elderly adult people show age-related sleep pattern changes and suffered from sleep disorders. Numerous etiologies factors leads to insomnia in the elderly, consistent observation of elderly people are probable to have several critical conditions in sleeping pattern due to physical, psychological changes. Poor sleeps and disorders in sleep results in increased risk of morbidity and bereavement in elderly. Disorders seen in the sleep of the elderly adult are often due to a decrease in the ability to get needed sleep. Treatment o f sleep problems and disorders can improve the quality of life and daytime functioning o f adults. This paper reviews the sleep disorders generally found in the adult.Keywords
