Abstract

Depression is a treatable mental health disorder, which is often neglected by many. It was found that once the belief system that is cooperating to depression is challenged therapeutically, treatment benefits the depressed person to come out this depressed circle of thoughts. With this notion the investigator used a scale called Reasons for Depression (RFD). The investigator thus used BDI-II to screen depression and asked the 1013 intermediate college students of Visakhapatnam, to give the reasons for their depression in written expression. These were then analyzed qualitatively and the results were discussed.
