Abstract

Education of Indian Muslims seems to have become a matter of serious concern for the educational policy planners of the country and intellectuals who believe that the nation will develop if all its sections are educationally empowered. Muslims in India are educationally and economically most backward. In this paper an attempt was made to explain the basic purpose of education, to assess the prevailing conditions of the Muslim community in terms of education and find out the problems responsible for this condition such as absence of true Muslims leadership, lack of security and identity, low income, discriminatory attitudes of the majority community towards them, religious and mutual differences among themselves on the basis of social, economic, educational, linguistic, regional and other factors as well as to suggest certain ways and means to overcome these conditions.

Abstract

The ship of progress of any country floats on the hard work and dedication of its young generation and its innovative thoughts. The student community plays a vital role in every society. It has always been recognised as a great force. Growing unrest and indiscipline among students is a matter of great concern. In recent years they have assumed alarming proportions. Student unrest is not confined to India alone. It is a worldwide problem. They are agitations, strikes, boycotts of classes etc., in schools, colleges, universities and other educational and training institutions now and then. Student unrest is a great threat to our system of education, training programmes and development. The students indulge in violence, arson, destruction of property. They use unfair means to get through the tests and examinations, insult their teachers, threat their invigilators and abuse the staff on any pretext. They want more freedom, rights, both legitimate and illegitimate. If these undesirable activities and indiscipline are allowed to go on unchecked, the whole education and training system would soon be paralysed. An attempt was made to analyse the causes of student unrest. Present paper, though theoretical has identified certain common causes of student unrest:_defective education system, aimless life and uncertain future, economic difficulties, excessive number of students in the class, defective teaching methods, indifference family members, unsuitable teachers, student union, lack of co-curricular and creative activities, defective examination system, elements of indiscipline in the society, inadequate funding of educational institution by government, international issues, plays significant role in the development of student unrest. Such student's unrest once developed, pose a serious threat to the educational system and especially for the nation also. Hence to control the student unrest it is the need to device certain ways and means to control the development of student

Abstract

Happiness is a pleasurable & satisfying experience or it is a state of well-being characterized by emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. Research studies show that our enduring level of happiness is determined by our happiness set point, life circumstances and intentional or voluntary activities. Lyubomirsky (2008) suggested that our “set point”, or happiness level determined by birth or genetics, accounts for 50% of happiness; circumstances such as marital status, earnings & looks determine 10%; and remainder of our happiness comes from intentional activities or things we can do to change our happiness level. In the early 21st century, economist and environmental sustainability advocates came to share psychologist's interest in the extent to which money and consumption can buy happiness. In this paper an attempt is made to explain the basic reasons of happiness, to assess the causes of happiness. An attempt was made to explain the basic of happiness, to assess the prevailing conditions which makes men and women happy and find out the causes responsible for happiness such as materialistic (money, physical attractiveness and material possessions increases affluence) and the mentalist positions (specific character traits such as self confidence and energy correlate), which explain happiness is about both wanting what we have and having what we want, As well as suggest certain ways and means to reduce unhappiness.
