Impact of Psychosocial Factors on Women's Career Decision Making

Women career decision making has attracted research attention in the last two decades especially when it comes to choosing tertiary education. Despite the importance of decision making skills, there are still limited studies exploring this phenomenon in practice. Therefore this study aims to explore the psycho social factors like socio economic and self esteem affect the career decisions of university students. The study findings for women's career choices indicate a positive overall picture. Both self esteem and socioeconomic status were found to be influential on women's career choices. In order to generalize the findings , further research is required involving other contexts and subject groups.
