A Study of Ethical Leadership, Organizational Commitment and Locus of Control among the Junior and Senior Rank IT Professionals

The topic of ethical leadership has received significant attention in recent years due to the plethora of corporate scandals in the USA, India and other countries. The shocking financial irregularities that have been uncovered in the executive suites of Wall Street Darlings like Tyco International, World Com, Adelphia, Enron and more recently the Satyam Computer's scandals in India bring to fore the need for ethical leadership more than ever before. Indians' biggest ever corporate scandal took a sensational new turn when Chairman (Mr. B. Ramalinga Raju) of Satyam Computers, the IT service giant, admitted he orchestrated a $ 1 billion fraud and resigned. He also said to the board that he had widely inflated the company's profitability for several years. This resulted in 50.4 billion worth of balance sheet at the end of September. Such type of scandals swept many US companies in 2002. S Chips scandals, Tyco International, MG Rover Group, are also the name of companies who involved in scandals. After become acquainted with such type of corporate scandals now day's organizations are spending a lot of effort and money to project them as ethical and socially responsible organization in the eyes of their customers.
