The article explained the Sculptural Art of Thiruvavaduthurai Udaiyar Temple at Thiruvaduthurai is a good field for the study of iconography of the Chola dynasty. The sculptural art of the temple could be brought under various heads on the basis of the media. To begin with stone dominated, later bronze and stucco came into the period. Paintings and woods were to be found at a very late phase of the Chola period.Keywords
