Wireless Sensor Networks are extremely vulnerable to any kind of routing attacks due to several factors such as wireless transmission and resource-constrained nodes. In this respect, securing the packets is of great importance when designing the infrastructure and protocols of sensor networks. This paper describes the hardware architecture of secure routing for wireless sensor networks. The routing path is selected using Ad-hoc on demand distance vector routing protocol (AODV). The data packets are converted into digest using hash functions. The functionality of the proposed method is modeled using Verilog HDL in MODELSIM simulator and the performance is compared with various target devices. The results show that the data packets are secured and defend against the routing attacks with minimum energy consumption.Keywords

In the present effort an endeavor has been made to observe the various morphological and anatomical investigations on the leaf of Cayratia pedata var. glabra, belongs to the family Vitaceae. This is used in Ayurveda, Folk and Siddha medicine for the treatment of ulcer, antiseptic, antidiarrhoeal, refrigerant and cough. Anatomical studies revealed the presence of unicellular, non glandular epidermal trichomes, three abaxial horizontal bundles and one adaxial median bundle, anomocytic stomata and parenchymatous cells with calcium oxalate crystals. It helps to recognize and standardize the crude drug for medicinal uses. Presence of bilobed fruit is the important differentiable characterization among the other genus.Keywords

Test data compression is one of the major challenging tasks in VLSI. This paper targets on Test Data compression by using block based method without any variation in the system performance. Test data sets are separated into five kinds of blocks like whole zeros, whole ones, min zero/min one, max ones and complement blocks. The blocks will be read based on the presence of 0s and 1s. The analysis made in the ISCAS89 benchmark circuit shows that the proposed method is more efficient and more flexible and produces a good compression ratio when compared to the existing methods.Keywords

Hexavalent chromium is one of the major pollutants released from the tanneries that have a direct effect on man and animals. In this study, seaweeds such as Centeroceras clavulatum, Enteromorpha flexuosa, Grateloupia lithophila, Enteromorpha intestinalis, and Ulva lactuca, were collected from Covelong, Chennai. Sargassum sp., Amphiroa sp., Ulva sp., and Hypnea sp. were collected from Kanyakumari and Chaetomorpha antennina was collected from Puducherry. Different solvents such as methanol, ethanol, water, benzene and chloroform were used for extraction. Then these extracts were used to treat tannery effluent. The reduction in hexavalent chromium was analysed and correlated with phytochemicals of algal extracts. Results revealed that Cr(VI) concentration was highly reduced by benzene extract of Hypnea sp. (95%).Keywords

Most of the HVAC system in home is running based on static control algorithm; based on fixed work schedules. In that old system energy became waste when home contains low or no people occupancy. In this paper we presented new dynamic approach of HVAC system control, by combined with pervasive computing. Pervasive computing can be defined as availability of centralized system and information anywhere and anytime. We achieved our target by using occupancy sensors for collecting home status. Initially our occupancy sensors collect human presence and current HVAC status details and stored in centralized system. Then based on our user defined threshold value the centralized system maintains the building's heating, cooling and air quality conditions by controlling HVAC devices. I.e. this system turned off HVAC systems when a home is unoccupied, or put the system into an energy saving sleep mode when persons are asleep.Keywords

Studies on the effect of different concentrations of treated paper mill effluent on soil and growth, biochemical constituents and modulation of green gram were carried out under potted condition. The growth parameters such as shoot, ischolar_main lengths and biomass were increased upto 50% concentration of the effluent, thereafter all these attributes decreased sharply. Biochemical constituents such as chlorophyll and protein exhibited a slight increase in 25 and 50% concentration. The bacterial, fungal and nodules had also increased upto 50% concentration and decreased slowly. All the above said parameters were decreased at higher concentrations (75% and 100%). The physico chemical constituents of treated paper mill effluent showed higher BOD and COD values, dissolved oxygen was nil, NPK was low while the contents of sodium, calcium, sulphate and chloride were higher.Keywords

In vehicular ad hoc networks, safety applications allow people to avoid dangerous situations based on the condition of the vehicles in their proximity. Such proximity awareness is realized by admitting each vehicle to collect safety messages called beacons, which are periodically and locally transmitted from its neighbouring vehicles. The reliability of beacon transmissions is a crucial factor that makes safety applications effective in practice. Due to the open medium of communication in vehicular ad hoc network it is vulnerable to many attacks. Therefore, we provide an efficient anonymous authentication scheme with low computational cost. In addition, we introduce congestion detection algorithms to detect areas of high traffic density with low speeds. Altogether we propose a new scheme called Enhanced Context-Aware Network Coded Repetition with Privacy-Preserving Scheme and Traffic Congestion Avoidance in Vehicular Ad-hoc Network to avoid malicious vehicles entering into the VANET and to avoid traffic congestion by suggesting optimal path to vehicles.

The quality of fish or any products may be affected primarily by handling, processing and storage procedures from the catch to consumers. Retention time and storage temperature of post-harvested fish, mushroom, paneer or any other products are key factors for sustaining the final quality of this product. Our project proposes an image processing method which is completely automatic, efficient and non-destructive for the segmentation of tissues and prediction of freshness of the samples. Even though the appearance of these products looks well, the protein synthesis value may get degraded which is harmful to our internal organs if consumed. So the degradation of these products should be analysed and determined through algorithm.

Nitrogen occurs naturally under oxidation of nitric anhydride, N2O5 and nitrates, NO3- and also from ammonia, and ammonium ions, NH4+. Because of increase in human activities environmental nitrate concentrations also increased which leads to introduction of large quantities of nitrates into ground and surface waters. Agriculture is the major source of nitrate pollution because of using of nitrogen-containing fertilizers, concentrated livestock and poultry farming. Nitrates are also released from the industrial production of glass, explosives, as well as from various chemical production and separation processes. Highest reduction in nitrate content was found in benzene extract of U.lactuca 91% and very minimal reduction of 12 % was found in aqueous extract of E.intestinalis. Among all, the extracts of Ulva lactuca, Enteromorpha flexuosa fell under Category A (Good reduction), and benzene was found to be the best solvent system. Maximum reduction by powdered algae was found in C.antenina collected from Covelong and Puduchery (375 mg/l).Keywords

Objective: The ethno-botanical assessment aims to explore and gather the medicinally aromatic foliages used by local traditional healers at Molamalai Hill, Karur district of Tamil Nadu, India. Materials and Methods: With the assist of medicine-men, elderly people and local traditional healers, the field investigation was conceded out through semi-structured interviews. The knowledge on potent plants and their local names, parts of the plant used in the preparation of medicine and mode of administration on a variety of diseases were recognized. Results: The survey has explored a total of 81 vital angiospermic medicinally aromatic plants belonging to 37 families. Analysis of surveyed plants showed that a greater number of dicotyledons (79 species) belong to a variety of families and 2 monocotyledons belong to Liliaceae and Commelinaceae. Within the dicotyledons, polypetalous shows 37 species, gamopetalous shows 30 species and 12 are monochlamydeae. The majority of the families were represented by Fabaceae and Convolvulaceae (8 species). The 81 diverse ethnic medicinal plants are used to treat skin illness, rheumatism, diabetes, diarrhoea, indigestion, and gonorrhoea. Conclusion: The cram suggested that the present information on the aromatic medicinal use of plants may be helpful for botanical and pharmacological research in future for the discovery of novel sources of drugs.Keywords

Traditional SERVQUAL may be quite sufficient for the measurement of service quality of banks. But this research aimed for a more practical approach in using the actual services offered by banks in measuring their service quality. For this research, customers’ satisfaction towards the services offered by private banks was considered. A total sample of 112 is taken from the customers of private banks. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire from the customers which included factors to get opinion on general customer service offered by the banks, security provided for investments and assets, interest rate offered for investments, access to other products offered by the banks apart from traditional services, loan facilities and locker facilities offered by these banks. Data description was done with percentages of the sample, while data was done using linear regression and analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). From the outcome it was found that majority of the customers of private banks are satisfied with the services offered by the banks. There is a significant impact from the considered factors on the overall satisfaction of the customers on the services offered by these banks and there is no significant group difference among the gender and domicile of customers considered on their perception of overall satisfaction on the services offered by these banks. It was also found that there is a significant group difference on the opinion of overall satisfaction among customers differentiated by their age, educatio marital status and income.Keywords
