Set in the context of Jewish culture, the thesis explores the model of novels written by Saul Bellow. The author of the thesis holds that there is a quest model in Bellowian texts, either apparently or inwardly, which are related to Jewish culture. And the model is a kind of Jewish uniqueness: i.e. first, the agents to quest in the text are intellectuals; second, the quest is a spiritual one more or less; at last, it is uncertain and ironical.
