The approach of Max Weber to study of religion reflected the interpretive methodology as contrasted with the positivist methodology adopted by Durkheim. The enlightenment thinkers had presented an image of human beings as reasonable, thinking creatures, able to perceive their circumstances and to do plan and bring about a change in a rational and orderly manner. Weber's theory of religion is one most basic work to understand the motivations and values that inform the actions of individuals. In this article we will give more emphasis to 'The Protestant Ethic and sprit of Capitalism' original work of highly respected sociologists Max Weber.- Theories of Sovereignty
