Diversification is essential for the growth of any speciality and it is an inevitable process in the course of time. Over the years, the science of Anaesthesiology also could not remain immune from the demands of refinement and expanding its realms and there lay the genesis of various subspecialties like Neuroanaesthesiology, Cardiac anaesthesiology, Organ Transplantation Anaesthesiology, Pain Management and Palliative care. Amongst one of the first branches to grow out from mainstream anaesthesiology, Neuroanaesthesiology has carved a distinct niche for itself over the past few years.

Abstract

Diversification is essential for the growth of any speciality and it is an inevitable process in the course of time. Over the years, the science of Anaesthesiology also could not remain immune from the demands of refinement and expanding its realms and there lay the genesis of various subspecialties like Neuroanaesthesiology, Cardiac anaesthesiology, Organ Transplantation Anaesthesiology, Pain Management and Palliative care. Amongst one of the first branches to grow out from mainstream anaesthesiology, Neuroanaesthesiology has carved a distinct niche for itself over the past few years.
