Phyto-Chemical Screening of some Plants of Indian Botanic Garden

This is a report of preliminary screening of 120 samples representing 103 different species, wherein 27, 14, 85, 30 and 45 samples gave positive tests for alkaloids, saponins, steroid/triterpenoids, coumarins and flavonoids respectively. Only Solidago canadensis Linn, responded to Legal test and Cassia fistula Linn, contain anthraquinone derivative.
