The paper which represents the first part of a series of communications on the flowering plants from Madhya Pradesh presents an enumeration of 164 species belonging to the families Dilleniaceae to Moringaceae, following Bentham & Hooker's (1883) System. Notes on habitat, flowering and fruiting season, exact localities from where the species have been collected together with the field nos. of the collectors', abundance in the area are appended to every species enumerated.
