A Contribution to the Flora of Purulia District, West Bengal

The present paper deals only with the angiosperm flora of the district of Purulia of West Bengal. The enumeration of species consists of 94 families, 287 genera and 405 species, of which dicotyledons contain 78 families, 235 genera and 324 species, and the rest are monocotyledons. Amohg dicotyledonous families, predominant are Papilionaceae, Rubiaceae and Euphorbiaceae and among monocotyledonous Graminae and Cyperaceae. The collection includes some plants which appear to be new to West Bengal flora.
