Plagiochila gymnoclada Sande Lac. - a species widespread in East and Southeast Asia and Melanesia, belonging to section Plagiochila is recorded for the first time in Indian bryoflora from West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh in Eastern Himalaya. A note on the distribution of the section Plagiochila in India has been provided.
