Abstract

Objectives: The objective of this research article is to extract threshold voltage of fully depleted silicon on insulator (FDSOI) device@ gate length of 220 nm. Methods/Analysis: This paper aims at modeling of fully depleted silicon on insulator (FDSOI) device @ gate length of 220nm. This work finds threshold voltage of FDSOI device using linear extrapolation method. Findings: Threshold voltage of the device is found to be 0.21 V. For different gate voltages, drain current versus drain voltage characteristics curves are plotted in this paper. Novelty /Improvement: The modeled device is applicable in designing ultra-low power circuits which are useful in portable and wearable devices.

Abstract

Explosive welding was first recognised as a remote possibility in 1957 in the United States, when it was observed that meial sheets being explosively formed occasionally stuck to the metal dies. During the intervening decade, the process has been developed from remote possibility to a well understood process, which has found considerable application to plate cladding, particularly applicable to the cladding of very large areas which can only be done less effectively by roll cladding.

Abstract

Flexible mirrors widely used for wave front correction, can be deformed to any desired complex shape through the application of control voltages. Finite element method has been used for computing the value and location of voltages. The thickness of the mirror being very small, it behaves nonlinearly. The paper presents the method of computation of influence matrix to relate deformed shape with the pressure to be applied to obtain the deformed shape.

Abstract

An experiment was conducted with wheat varieties and zinc application method in sodic soil at Main Experiment Station, N.D.University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Faizabad in Rabi season 2005-06. The specific objective is to identify the economical and effective method of zinc application with reference to growth, yield and quality of wheat under sodic soil condition. Twelve treatment comprised of four methods of zinc application i.e. control and 0.5,1.0, zinc sulphate seed soaking and basal 20 kg ZnS04 ha^-1 and three wheat varieties ( NW1012, PBW343 and Malviya 468) were tested in three replications. Seeds were soaked as per treatment for four hours and dried in shade for 24 hours before sowing. Seeds soaking and basal application with ZnS04 increased plant height, number of tillers plant^-1, chlorophyll content, total soluble sugar and grain yield plant^-1 over control. Overall performance of NW1012 variety of wheat showed superiority over Malviya 468 and PBW 343. Basal application of ZnS04 was found more effective over seed soaking method with respect to yield and quality of wheat under soil condition.

Abstract

An experiment was conducted to see the influence of phosphorus during submergence of rice at experimental site of Department of Crop Physiology, N.D. University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Faizabad, UP, India. The two rice varieties i.e. FR13A (submergence tolerance) and Mahsuri (submergence susceptible) were exposed to seven days continuous complete submergence to 30 days of old seedling with different doses of phosphorus. Plant height, shoot dry weight, starch content, SOD activity and grain yield significantly reduced during submergence in both varieties irrespective of phosphorus treatment. Among the different levels, 80 kg P₂O₅ha^-1 phosphoruswas found more effective during submergence. As it sustained the growth and yield by increasing the shoot dry matter, starch content, and SOD activity of rice during submergence. The response of phosphorus was more significant in FR13A than Mahsuri. Therefore, the optimum phosphorus content in plant maintained growth activity by mitigating the adverse environmental effect under submergence condition.

Abstract

The tetradentate Schiff base ligand was prepared by condensation of 2-aminobenzaldehyde with o-phenylenediamine. The synthesized complex has been studied by using cyclic voltammetry and DNA cleavage studies. The resulting voltammogram consists of a single quasi-reversible one electron transfer attribute to couple [Cu(II)L]/[Cu(I)L]. Trends in cathodic peak potential (Epc) values are observed which can be correlated with electron effects of Schiff base ligand, changes with basis of liquid groups are determinant for electrochemical trends. The interaction of Cu(II) complex with Calf Thymus DNA has been studied by using absorption, viscosity and cyclic voltammetry. Cyclic voltammetry studies reveal that the complex prefer to bind to DNA in Cu(II) rather than (I) oxidation state.
