Abstract
The aim of the present paper is to prove a common fixed point theorem for weakly compatible maps which are not necessarily continuous. This generalizes several known results in the literature including those of Chugh and Kumar, Kang and Kim, Jachymski, Rhoades, Fisher, and Jungck.
