Financial toxicity has been widely documented in the oncology literature and has been associated with a host of negative outcomes, including impaired quality of life, treatment non-adherence and greater risk of mortality. These negative outcomes prompted a call to action among oncology providers to take the lead in discussions of financial burden and costs of care among patients. However, to date, oncologists feel ill prepared to initiate these discussions and few patients feel this is part of their routine oncologic care. Moreover, little attention has been given to the training of future clinicians in oncology to effectively discuss costs of care. The development and implementation of provider communication training programs and integration of appropriate financial toxicity screening will enable cost of care discussions to become routine and help dissipate patient discomfort.
Errol J. It significantly impairs women’s quality of life. MUI usually represent with more severe symptoms and are more likely to present for the treatment as per the recent studies. The management not only includes the conventional but also the complementary and alternative medicine treatment incorporating details from evidence to clinical practice. Combinations of behavioral modification, pelvic floor physiotherapy, biofeedback, pharmacotherapy, anti-incontinence devices, and complementary therapies is useful to treat mixed symptoms. Some researches recommended the use of Serotonin/Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors (SNRIs) and antimuscarinic drugs to treat MUI. Some studies showed that acupuncture is beneficial for MUI. The treatment with herbal medicine such as mace, Boswellia serrata and Cyperius were also effective in treating MUI symptoms. Arshiya Sultana, A. G. F. Prevalence of alcohol and illicit drugs use decrease with increasing of age. Conclusion: The present study shows that the commonest substance of abuse is tobacco and this is also the gateway substance of abuse, so legal and awareness methods should be adopted to limit its abuse.
Pradeep Kumar Yadav, Nitesh Kumar Singh, Mona Srivastava https://www.i-scholar.in/index.php/JHSR/article/view/203747 Thu, 01 Oct 2020 00:00:00 +0000 Study on Awareness about Food Adulteration and Consumer Rights among Consumers in Dhaka, Bangladesh https://www.i-scholar.in/index.php/JHSR/article/view/203748 Combating food adulteration is a great challenge in Bangladesh. The customer is the leading economic community and the focus of all commercial activities. The price, availability, variety, and attractiveness of consumer products have increased with the rise in people’s incomes. The business sector is practically bursting with complex technology-based new products. Regardless of misleading advertising, unsuitable media coverage, and food adulteration, it is challenging for the customer to select a particular foodstuff. The primary victim is a customer who casually takes adulterated food and pays the price of such corrupt practices. Bangladesh Government has enacted the Food Safety Act, 2013 to ensure food safety. But, consumer awareness is one of the most important steps towards reducing the adulteration of foods. Consumer faces different kinds of challenges to ensure food safety for them. To effectively face these challenges, consumers need to prepare themselves against these issues. In our present study, we have analyzed the different consumer behavior considering food adulteration and their awareness about consumer rights. Aishawarya Arefin, Paroma Arefin, Md. Shehan Habib, Md. Immuno histochemical study has been done to observe the melatonin receptors localization in pituitary gland. Western blot analysis was carried out to assess the expression patterns of melatonin receptors in pituitary gland and TSH receptors in thyroid gland. Hormonal analysis was done by ELISA kits. It was observed that introduction of melatonin reduced serum T3, T4, TSH hormones levels including thyroid TSH receptors those were fluctuated due to experimentally induced hyperthyroidism. The result has also shown the depletion of MT1 and MT2 receptors of pituitary gland due to melatonin treatment in hyperthyroidism. It may conclude that melatonin effects in pituitary regulated thyroid secretions by down regulation of pituitary MT1 and MT2 receptors in hyperthyroid condition.
Prashanjit Laskar, Shiv Shankar Singh https://www.i-scholar.in/index.php/JHSR/article/view/203749 Thu, 01 Oct 2020 00:00:00 +0000 Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices of Medical Waste Management among Healthcare Staff in Dental Clinics of Sana’a City, Yemen https://www.i-scholar.in/index.php/JHSR/article/view/203750
Background: Sufficient knowledge, attitudes and practices toward medical waste management lead to minimizing risks of diseases transmitted from the wastes of hospitals and dental clinics to the community. Objective: The aim of this study was to assess knowledge, attitudes, and practices of medical waste management among healthcare staff in dental clinics of Sana’a city, Yemen. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among 194 healthcare staff of dental clinics in Sana’a city, Yemen, in the duration of May to July 2018.
