Abstract
The study of regional groundwater flow in an area plays an important role in the exploration, exploitation and conservation of groundwater resources. This paper deals with the investigations of horizontal groundwater flow made in Visakhapatnam basin of Andhra Pradesh state using water table and hydraulic gradient as criteria. In general. it is observed that movement of groundwater follows the trend of surface drainage. An attempt is made to apply hydrochemical approach to the interpretation of groundwater movement in the unconfined conditions of the region.
