Abstract
The oryctocephalid fauna from Middle Cambrian of Spili is described. In addition to Oryctocephalus salteri Reed, it includes Oryctocephalus opiki Shergold and Oryclocephalites cf. sulcatus Shergold, not recorded from India so far. The oryctocephalid fauna characterizes a distinct horizon at the base of Menevian (upper Middle Cambrian) which corresponds to its position in Australia (Templetonian).
