Abstract
The sediment mean size varies from 4.7-8.3 phi (medium-fine silt), moderate to poor sorting, near symmetrical to strongly fine skewed and platy to very platykurtic. Local bank erosion, redistribution and tributaries control the grain size distribution in the basin. Chlorite and montmorillionite are the dominant clay minerals followed by kaolinite and illite.
