Abstract
Cancer is the second leading fatal disease after heart disorders with low degree of curability. But recent advances in chemotherapy have led to improvement of cancer treatment. Several oncolytic agents such as Cisplatin, Doxorubicin, Etoposide, etc. are commonly used in treatment of various human malignancies. Cisplatin is a widely used antitumor agent for the treatment of testicular and ovarian cancer. It is a heavy metal complex with a platinum atom surrounded by two chloride atoms and two ammonia molecules. It is found to exert its cytotoxic effect by forming DNA adducts.
