Pattern of Implantation in one of the Indian Tropical Bat Scotophilus heathi

India has a very rich fauna of Bats but the limited knowledge about their but the limited knowledge about their species as an alternative model for the study of implantation physiology. Most of the studies on embryo development have been focused upon a selected group of laboratory and farm animals in spite of the fact that the ovulation pattern and the pregnancy found in Indian bats are very much similar to those of human females like ovulation from alternate ovaries, mostly single fetus etc.
