Our previous investigation revealed that the normal male mice urine contained five unique volatile constituents namely, 3- cyclohexene-1-methanol (I), 3-amino triazole (II), 4-ethyl phenol (III), 3-ethyl 2,7 dimethyl octane (IV) and I-iodoundecan (V) (Achiraman and Archunan, 2002). The present investigation was designed to find out whether these male specific compounds present in the urine of mice are androgen dependent.
