Factories Act 1948 provides rules and regulation about provision of guards and working on machines. Guards or some protective devices are provided in machine to avoid accident by coming in contact with moving parts or any part flying off from the machine.
Protective devices may be a) Mechanical, b) Electrical, c) Hydraulic, d) Pneumatic or a combination of more than one method.

Explosive welding process is not common in industries, except in some specific applications. In this paper, the author details the method of using explosive welding and some prospective areas of application of this process. The results of some explosive weld cladded components have been reported to be good. With this, some future scope of work is also suggested by the author.Keywords
