Building Solar Technicians:Tangible Role of The Association of Engineers, India

The concept of the role of a Technician in discharging his professional duties in the context of solar energy development in this country is perhaps one of the most crucial inputs for the industry and economic growth of the Country in the field of Solar PV System. There is a gap between the technologies that are taught in an Institution and that are dealt with in industries. So a student finds it difficult to deal with when he moves into the professional field. To meet this gap in reality, The Association of Engineers, India has spread its wings to Continuing Education as demanded by the circumstances and needs of the Country. Association, a very old professional body, has introduced some selected non-formal courses of technical education. In its role to make qualified good Technician, this Association has opened up possibilities for those aspirants to become a "Solar Technician" who have neither financial stability nor the opportunities to pursue a formal education on Solar Engineering Course.
