Experimental Study and Development of Correlation for the Design Parameters of a Solar Water Still Using MATLAB

Correlation for the design parameter of solar distillation plant based upon experimental data collected on a prototype unit of size 2 m×1 m area at Aligarh, has been developed. The correlation for the absorber plate temperature, glass temperature, water liner temperature and water vapor temperature developed in terms of the solar flux fit the experimental data for the month of March, April and December. The mass of distillate calculated from the energy balance equation with the help of MATLAB software using the developed correlation also agree well, with the measured values of the distillate on the available plant.
