The studies on bio-efficacy of aphid population showed quite promising results and from the pooled data at first spray, the results revealed that all the treatments proved their superiority over untreated control showing imidacloprid 70WG as the most effective treatment followed by thiamethoxam 25 WG, fipronil 5SC and diafenthiuron 50WP. The second spray results showed that thiamethoxam 25WG, imidacloprid 70WG and fipronil 5SC proved to be the best treatments with maximum reduction of population and were found at par with each other.Keywords

The bio-efficacy results obtained after first spray, from the pooled data with respect to effect of different treatments against mite infestation revealed that propargite @ 1500ml a.i./ha proved to be the best treatment showing maximum reduction of mites in 6.25cm2 leaf area/3 leaves followed by fenazaquin, spiromecifen and dicofol which were also highly effective against mites indicating results at par with the best treatment in reducing mite population on okra while during second spray fenazaquin was the best pesticide followed by propargite, spiromesifen, dicofol, diafenthiuron and chlorfenapyr which were highly effective and at par with the best treatment against mites.Keywords

On summer okra crop seasonal incidence as influenced by weather parameters on mites population reached its peak during last week of April with 8.40 mites in 6.25cm2 leaf area/3 leaves. The correlation between mite population was positively significant against maximum temperature (r= 0.841**), minimum temperature (r= 0.805**), evaporation (r= 0.803**), wind velocity (r= 0.728**) and bright sunshine hours (r= 0.649*), while with morning R.H (r= - 0.717**) and evening R.H (r= - 0.643*) it was negatively significant. The equations of linear and multiple regression were set of mite population by working out regression co-efficient (b) and constant (a) alongwith coefficient of determination (R2).Keywords

Sericulture is an emerging agro-based enterprise for small and marginal holding farmers having less capital investment. This enterprise involves two distinct activities viz., silkworm rearing and another important one is mulberry leaf production which decides productivity and profitability in sericulture. Mulberry plant have been found attacked by some major pests along with some natural enemies been observed in this locality. This results in severe economical losses to the sericulture farmers. Considering the farmers interest in adopting chemical measures in controlling the mulberry pests is affecting the silkworm rearing to large extent. Hence, a specific study on pest, seasonal attack, symptoms caused, their characteristic alongwith integrated management approach with special emphasis on bio-control measures needs to be popularized among farmers by intensified extension efforts.Keywords

Mulberry sericulture always been recognized only for commercial production of silk from silkworm. Its quiet true also that at present this sericulture industry is looked as an important source by countries such as China and India to generate global currencies. But several resources regarding mulberry sericulture are still utilized properly. The sericulture waste can be emanated into three kinds i.e., first is beds refuse after silkworm rearing, second mulberry twigs, surplus leaves along with fruits, third waste from coccon reeling such as pupae. Also silkworm excreta and different by products can offer diverse utility either by direct or indirect way in agriculture and rural cottage industries. Hence helping to generate note worthy economic for the sericulture farmers.Keywords

Mulberry plant is an extremely versatile plant that can fulfill a number of roles in smallholder agricultural production. Mulberry has been used as silkworm feed also in traditional oriental medicine as a anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-diabetic, anti-obesity and also to treat cardiovascular problems. Mulberry fruits are used as a foodstuff to enhance the cattle milk production. Mulberry stem and ischolar_main barks can be used in the paper making industry. Dried wastes of mulberry are utilized in poultry rations which improve the nutritional content i.e., vitamin A, finally increasing their egg production. Mulberry wastes such as stem, leaves, branches etc. are used in biofuel and biogas production which can inflates a notable avenue to seri-farmers. Its high thickness stems are applied in manufacturing of hockey sticks and various agricultural implements. Their biomass waste is an valuable raw material for the pharmaceutical industry due to its high flavones and phenol content. Hence whole mulberry plant have a specific value and if proper utilization of such raw material takes place it can open new vista in industrial exploitation which may help to uplift standard of living and socio- economic status of seri-farmers.Keywords
