National Food Situation by Economic Research Service, U. S. Department of Agriculture published in September, 1977, edited by A. C. Manchester, L. V. Summers and L. W. Brown throws light on the food situation and outlook, marketing, consumer research, perspectives, consumer legislation and USDA actions. As per the latest estimate percapita food use in America which reached a record high in 1976, may be down slightly in 1977-perhaps about half percentage - but will still be the second highest in history. However, compared to 1976, expenditures were up 11 per cent and disposable personal income by 10 per cent.- Studies in the Measurement of Levels of Living and Welfare
