The current national production of soybean is around 9,81,900 tonnes in 13,01,400 hectares area. Soybean being referred to frequently as 'golden bean' or 'wonder bean' can be considered as a boon to solve protein malnutrition. The demand for soy products is consistently increasing in India as they have great potential in solving the deficiency of both energy and proteins.
