Abstract
The elderly in the rural areas are one of the most vulnerable groups. The diet in majority of these women consists mainly of starchy foods mixed with vegetable oils. Anaemia in these women is mainly due to deficiency of iron and also partly due to deficiency of folates and vitamin B12.
