Every year, FAO and WHO hold a joint meeting of experts to discuss the hazards to health arising from the contamination of foods with pesticide residues. These meetings result in the publication of a brief report setting out the main findings and recommendations, and in the preparation of monographs containing evaluations, acceptable daily intakes and tolerances for pesticide residues, together with information on the identity of the pesticides considered.
