The members of the Editorial Board of the indian Journal of Nutrition and Dietetics express their deep sorrow on the passing away of Dr. M. Swaminathan in April 1993. He was one of the editors of the Journal, since its inception in 1964 and a respected scientist in the field of Nutrition. He contributed a great deal towards the development of the indian Journal of Nutrition and Dietetics. Dr, Swaminathan, a D.Sc in Biochemistry and Nutrition from the University of Madras had worked with Dr.W.R. Aykroyd and had held high positions In All India Institute of Hygiene and Public Health, Calcutta and Medical College, Jaipur. He also served in CFTRI in many capacities during 1949-1972.
