An important consideration of cancer research today is to find measures that will reduce the risk of cancer through more natural processes such as changing dietary patterns and life styles. Prospective and retrospective epidemiological studies suggest a relationship between diet and cancer, show that consumption of large amounts of fruits and vegetables lower the risk of certain cancers. These foods that are rich in anti-oxidant vitamins are known to have significant inverse association to the incidence of cancer.
